"If Hunter were to apply each of the common reactions to conflict in this situation, what he should do in each case is as follows.

Accommodation- in the accommodation style of solving conflicts Hunter would give in to what his captain obviously and that is for Hunter to stop dating his ex-fianc. (Aamodt, M. G. 2016). This would solve the problem because Hunter would stop doing what is making his captain upset and causing him to give Hunter the worst assignments, low performance evaluations, and keeping him away from the public contact.

Third-Party Intervention- though this method Hunter could need to communicate the problem to one of his higher ranked commanding officers, either the police commander or the chief of police in order to for one of them to mediate the situation in order to get it resolved.

Withdrawal- with the withdrawal style Hunter could just quit his job his captain cant affect is life if hes not in it.

Win at all costs- this style of conflict solving is less conflict solve and more make the conflict so bad that the other person gives in. (Aamodt, M. G. 2016). So, in this case Hunter could just attempt to do the same thing that his captain is going to him, that is make his like miserable a work.

Collaboration- this style of conflict solving is more of the middle ground that book describes in as win-win, unlike the one before which was a win-loss. (Aamodt, M. G. 2016). In this method Hunter and his Captain would have to create a relationship and eventually agree upon the best course of action to make both of them happy. So, maybe something like letting Hunter transfer to a new precinct or having him receive a promotion if Hunter leaves his Captain ex-fianc.

I think the best option in this scenario is to do the one I discussed last the Collaboration style of conflict solving. Especially if it is the scenario where Hunter still gets to be with his current girlfriend and get transfer to a new precinct."
