"Total quality management (TQM) refers to a quality emphasis that encompasses the entire organization, from supplier to customer. TQM stresses a commitment by management to have a continuing company-wide drive toward excellence in all aspects of products and services that are important to the customer" (Heizer et al., (2023). Total Quality Management programs are that are designed to retain the competitiveness of the organization in order to achieve customer satisfaction. It is an integrative approach to management that involves continuous improvement in the quality of products and services as well as the processes. This system of total quality management works on the concept that everyone who is involved in the process is responsible for the quality of the product and process. In this process, the improvement comes in everyone from the management to workers to suppliers to customers to meet the customers' expectations and delight them.

Six Sigma is a process of improvements in the quality of the process by way of detecting and identifying the problems and defects in the process and minimizing these defects and variability in the production and process so that the process and production are standardized. This uses sets of quality management techniques and statistical methods for minimizing the variability in the production and process. In this process, the organization follows definite sequences of steps to achieve the goals of increasing profits or reducing costs.
