Question: I need help writing a IF fuction that will have another worksheet handel either monthly or annuel payments F. That Howard is a pesky guy!

F. That Howard is a pesky guy! He has another big request - he does not like to look at two worksheets, but instead wants to look at only one. He wants you to copy the MONTHLY worksheet to a new sheet in this same workbook and name this new sheet BOTH WAYS. By using several IF functions, he wants you to modify this worksheet so it will handle EITHER monthly OR annual payments. Consider the following: in the Data Section, add an additional input variable (on that one blank row you left in the data section): Payment Frequency. In this cell, you will either enter "Yearly" or "Monthly." For right now, enter "Monthly" in the cell. Use Data Validation (Allow LIST, then type in Yearly, Monthly in the Source box) to ensure that only these two words can be entered into this cell. Give a customized input message and customized error message for the data validation. . Modify the existing "Payment Applied to Interest" formulas so they will handle monthly OR annual frequencies (hint: IF function.) If your frequency IS monthly, the interest computation is the same as the interest formula you already wrote in the MONTHLY worksheet! So go to your MONTHLY worksheet and WRITE DOWN (on paper) your interest formula (but do not include the beginning "=" sign when you write it down)! If your frequency is NOT monthly (ie., is yearly), the interest computation is the same as the interest formula you already wrote in the ANNUAL worksheet! So go to your ANNUAL worksheet and WRITE DOWN (on paper) your interest formula (but do not include the beginning "=" sign when you write it down)!! Go to BOTH WAYS worksheet to the first cell where you need to record the interest formula. Delete what is in that cell now. Time to write your IF! For r your condition, have Excel determine if the payment frequency is "Monthly" (hint: if you are comparing to text when writing the condition, you must put quotation marks around the text in your condition.) Remember, you added a cell to your data section in which you indicate the payment frequency-refer to that cell to determine if payments are yearly or monthly!
