1.
I personally have not written a proposal for and cannot say at this time that I will but at a previous workplace I had a fellow co-worker that did most of our proposal writing for the facility. The majority type of proposals written for the health facility were solicited, as they were researched and a call/open bid to the public. As the Community Health Nurse, she researched many government sites to see if announcements were being made for proposal submissions and once found the ones that would fit the needs of the facility and community, she began her planning. Some of the proposals she submitted for were health and wellness initiative programs, homecare/medical equipment, funding towards and substance use and addiction programs.
When writing your proposal be sure to be clear and concise and use a professional tone. The steps to writing a proper proposal should include:
Executive summary give an overview of the contents, a brief statement on what you are proposing
Background discuss the history of your organization. Explain why your organization is the best choice
Proposal the idea, 5Ws and H. Be clear and concise.
Benefits How will the reader benefit from choosing your organization?
Timeline a clear presentation. Show dates on which you will deliver progress reports
Finance Initial costs if there may be any potential revenue
Conclusion Reinstate your main points clearly. Make your proposal professional. Bring the reader back to the positive aspects
Be sure to plan your proposal well and only include information that is necessary to inform and persuade your reader.

I am part of a team that looks for requests for proposals (RFP), request for quotation (RFQ) and invitation for bid (IFB) online to complete submission and gain new customers. Once we find an RFP, our main task is to collect all the information and submit the proposal. We submit our proposal alongside many other companies in our industry willing to provide the same service (competitors).
For example, last year we submitted a proposal to the PWGSC to service their many sites around Ottawa and Kingston. This was a formal, external, and solicited proposal. This particular proposal stuck with me because it was my very first experience with such a large RFP.
RFPs usually come with their own sets of rules and requirements. Our research included numerous site visits to various locations, finding out who currently holds the contract and how the service has been to know if our way of service is compatible with their needs. We had to be willing to make changes to invoice and report templates to be eligible. We always know when it comes to cost, we are not the lowest in the industry, but we pride ourselves in the outstanding service that we offer.
In our proposal to the PWGSC, we included the different sections of a proposal: Cover page, executive summary, background (our history in the industry), proposal (How we believe our way of servicing customers will satisfy their service needs), market analysis (how we differ from our competitors), benefits (specific tasks that we will complete to all required tasks), timeline (since this was a large account, we had to mention how long it would take us to set it up in our system, and our plan to deliver equipment), finance (our cost and budget), and we also included per their request customer references (current and past). Our conclusion restated our main points and our willingness to work together toward the success of this project.
After months of putting this proposal together, we won!

I have yet to write a proposal, so I have created a company. My company is a private eye investing firm, The Watchful Eye. My proposal aims to inform potential new clients about my business and services, and I would make a solicited proposal.
I would provide a background of the company, how our company is well known and respected and strives for the privacy of our clients. Provide our investigator's experience and education to show that the company has a great team. I would provide a list of services we offer and the cost associated with each service. By providing the client with this information, we can suggest why our company will be the best choice.
In planning my proposal, I would do a market analysis, get the city's population and crime rates, research the competition and any industries involved in surveillance and searching for people, and do a financial analysis.
Doing the research will allow you to provide the client with information about the competitors in the market. Showing the client what the competitors offer and what we can provide them gives them additional information and benefits about why they should choose your company.
When writing a proposal, you want to make it compelling and persuasive. Also, you want to be clear and concise to prevent any confusion. (Ashman, 2020)
Following the traditional sections, which are; executive summary, background, proposal, benefits, timeline, and finance, is an opportunity to sell and should reinforce your credibility, your passion, and why your solution is the best. (Ashman, 2020)
