I selected this option for week 4. First, I don't know how accurate this interest inventory is due there being only 30 questions. I disagree with being able to get a good scope of interests in 30 questions. I don't believe I learned anything new about personal interests, my top jobs seemed to be in sales and marketing. I don't actually have any interest in doing these jobs but I have worked sales in the past and was successful. The careers that best matched my interest inventory didn't closely relate to sociology. One that did was a correctional supervisor. Arguably any supervisory role is related to sociology because you need to know how people work, but especially in corrections, it would be important to have a background in sociology. Part 2: Discuss aspects of your previous professional and personal experiences that led you to want to pursue a degree in sociology. What are some of your greatest accomplishments in terms of learning and building new skills? Review the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook for sociologists. Describe at least one additional potential career path you would be interested in pursuing with your sociology degree or specific ways in which your sociology degree can be integrated into your current career path or other areas of your professional life (volunteer activities, service, etc.).
