Question:
- Identify at least one technique that you employed in your literature review that produced sources relevant to your topic (i.e. advanced search strategies).
As far as technique, I really just go off of the research and what is relevant to my topic. I look at past literature reviews that I have completed, and I use the same format as it has been correct and has had several professors' eyes on it.
- Identify at least one source that may prove useful to your colleagues (i.e. website, journal article).
The source that you may find useful is Brookings.edu. My reason for using this source is that you can search for various topics and find lots of journal articles. Also, this is one of the sources that have been mentioned in my courses and some instructors have required me to use sources from this site.
- Identify at least one source of data that you will use in your thesis (data set, government statistics, graphs, charts, archive of presidential speeches, U.N. publications).
One source that I will use is:
Velasquez, N., Leahy, R., Restrepo, N. J., Lupu, Y., Sear, R., Gabriel, N., ... & Johnson, N. F. (2021). Online hate network spreads malicious COVID-19 content outside the control of individual social media platforms. Scientific reports, 11(1), 11549. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-021-89467-y
The reason being is that it breaks down hate clusters within a set amount of social media posts during a given time period. This shows how much content the average individual is exposed to when they are on social media and is a key step in how radicalization occurs.
