Modeling Problem: Electronics Recycling Center

Donated electronics arrive into a recycling center plant where they are refurbished and then sold in a discount store. The electronics are delivered from the Arrival to the Refurbish Area, where they are configured, with hard drives formatted, music deleted, new software installed, etc. Some items are delivered to the Reliability and Test chambers. In these chambers, electronics are run through a series of test cycles under ambient conditions and the other under heat. Once the test results are verified, the electronics are moved to the Quality department where they are visually inspected for flaws. Some electronics start in Quality to determine if they are recyclable. The electronics are then moved to a Palletizer which combines three pieces of electronics of the same type into a small pallet. The pallets are then sent to one of four shipping bays. They are routed to the shipping bay which has seen the least amount pallets. The actually shipping is outside the bounds of our interest. The movement of electronics between Arrival, Testing, Quality, and Palletizing is performed by one of three AGV systems that can hold up to four items $($i$.$e$.,$ transport up to four pieces of electronics at a time$).$

Four Product Type Information

The electronics are grouped into four Product Types: laptops, desktops, monitors and tablets. Below is the distribution of volume for each product type. The Product ID can be used to identify the part by color.
