Imagine the following scenario: A single (unmarried) woman is a teacher at a private, Christian school. As part of her employment contract, she must sign a morality agreement, which in part, promises to refrain from sexual activity outside of marriage. The teacher signs the document. Sometime later, the teacher, who is still unmarried, becomes pregnant. She is terminated from her position for being pregnant. The woman sues for wrongful termination based on gender discrimination and disparate impact.

Without discussing agreement with the terms of the morality agreement or its legality, discuss whether or not this constitutes gender discrimination or if it has a disparate impact on women. Discuss whether the woman will be successful in her lawsuit and why/why not. Finally, discuss whether or not the school should rephrase this clause and if so, how they might do it in a way to avid issues in the future.
