Implementation Resistance Assignment

Describes a situation where there was resistance to the implementation of an information system. Your case should be factual, but you may disguise specific details to preserve anonymity. For example, you would not have to include the name of the organization where the implementation took place. Your case should include the following elements.

1.A very general description of the organization where the implementation occurred. For example, a tier-2 supplier to the auto industry or a regional advertising agency. You can give your organization a fictitious name such as Ad-vert or Big Supply.

2.A description of the information system. Where was the IS implemented, i.e. which functional area within the organization? What benefits did management expect from its use?

3.Who were the resistors? Describe their job in general terms. How did they resist? What was the effect on the implementation of the IS; did it affect the benefits management expected from the IS? How did it affect the resistor?

4.A brief summary where you might speculate on the reasons why the resistor resisted.
