In $2005,$ Royal Interpreters sent a Swahili $($the official language of the East African Community countries, including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda$)$ interpreter to WSIB $($Workers Safety & Insurance Board$)$ Ontario to interpret an injury claim. The interpreter suffered a fall at the location, resulting in a long$-$term leg injury. The incident also led to a legal dispute between the Royal Interpreters and the Manitoba workers compensation board of Manitoba as to who will be responsible for covering the injury. Royal Interpreters believed that since the location was inappropriate for wearing heels, the officials requesting the interpretation services should have been informed before the appointment. On the other hand, the workers compensation board argued that since she was sent by Royal Interpreters, they should be responsible for the injury claim.
