In an industrial unit for production and sales of wine the following energy sources are consumed: LPG, Diesel Oil, Crude Oil and Electricity. For 2020 according to the energy invoices the following energy quantities were purchased: (LPG): 685 tn (Diesel): 276 tn Crude Oil: 523 tn Electricity: 640 MWh The consumption of different energy sources is consumed in the different equipment according to the following table Energy Source LPG Diesel Crude Oil Electricity Bottling Sales area space heating Production area space heating Production consumptions including: Separation process Pressing process Centrifugation process Refrigeration Auxilliary consumption Lighting Ventilation By the end of 2020 all reserves of LPG, diesel oil and crude oil are zero. The industry operates in three shifts of 8 hours, 30 days per month and 7 months per year for wine production and in two shifts of 8 hours, 22 days per month and 12 months per year for the sales of wine. It is noted that the sales area space heating is performed for 12 months per year. The characteristics of the different equipment and their operation are listed in the Table below. Equipment Characteristics Operation (months/year) Bottling 7 1150 kW demand Sales area space heating 12 Demand 650 kW Production area space 7 Demand 1050 kW heating Separation 7 2 units of 10 kW Pressing 7 2 units of 10 kW Centrifugation 17 2 units of 5 kW Refrigerators Contiuous 8 units of 10 kW (30% utilization factor) Lighting 7/12 400 lightings 60 W (120 sales-280 production) Ventilation 7/12 20 devices of 400 W (10 sales - 10 production) Diesel: tnx1,097toe/tn Crude Oil (mazout): tnx1,055toe/tn LPG: tnx1,195 toe/tn Electricity: MWhx0,086 toe/MWh 1 kcal (thermochemical) = 10^-7 toe. Marking Criteria 1. Processing of data, transform all units. (20%) 2. Perform the energy balance of the industry, Create Sankey diagrams for all types of energy, Find yearly energy demand of all equipment(toe), Find energy usage and loss percentage of each energy type (30%) 3. Making suggestions for energy savings measures including RES and calculate as a percentage for each measure the energy savings with a total of 30%. (30%) 4. Calculate and compare the LCCAs for 3 scenarios for energy efficiency assuming the capital costs of the above measures in a 15-lifetime period with a discount rate 3%.
