In Apache Spark cluster$-$computing system, what is the main Task of the Coordinator $($Driver$)$ Node?

It supervises and manages the whole cluster regarding the execution of data processing tasks, e$.$g$.,$ splitting data processing job into sub$-$tasks, creating an execution plan and schedules them to run on worker nodes. The coordinator node monitors the execution also and in case of any failures it re$-$executes the tasks.

It is a logical supervisor role to start and stop of worker nodes only.
