There are "causes" and there are "effects." Regression analysis can't prove cause and effect but only whether numerical variables are related to one another and how strongly. There are many types of mathematical relationships possible, but in this course we only consider linear relationships.

Post an example of a practical application of regression analysis. Identify the independent and dependent numerical variables. Explain how the regression analysis might be used. (Note that you do not actually have to complete regression analysis on a set of data.) This may be an example you created yourself or one from the media however if you use a media example, be sure to include a working link.
