In Module Assignment 1, Chapter 2, you watched a video and took notes on a missing person call. You were asked to save those notes to be used later. If you did not save your notes, do not recall the video, or did not do the assignment, the video is attached below for you to review it again. Remember, an investigator would not have this luxury and would have to construct the report from the notes taken at the time or the information would be lost. If you have your notes, see if you can complete the report with the notes without reviewing the video again. If you do need to review the video, feel free to do so as these are new skills you are developing.
Once you feel you have an understanding of the call, you will write a police report using the format you have learned. If you are confused, go back to your notes and review the sections and the elements or information that is required in each section. You will be writing a Synopsis, Narrative, Statements, Evidence/Property Taken, Action Taken/Additional Information, Recommendations. This discussion assignment will help build your skills and get you ready for your Mid-Term Crime Report which is where you will put it all together (interview, interpret, take notes, and write a police report)
