In Modules 01 & 02 you were introduced to Lean as both a philosophy as well as a methodology. You learned how to define waste. And you were introduced to some key process improvement tools and methods--such as Value Stream Mapping. There was an emphasis on personal observation of--and mapping of your processes as a means of "learning to see." In this discussion, please comment on at least two of the concepts from these first two modules that you believe are important and ones that you may be able to use in your own workplace. Tell me why you liked these ideas/tools/methods and how they might be used to improve processes in the workplace. You may include a discussion regarding "Kaizen" events you have participated in at some time during your careers. What were the outcomes, etc.? Alternately, you may also answer your next job interview question, "What does Lean mean to you?"
