Question:
Each router needs to have its own subnet. There also needs to be VLANs across the entire
infrastructure. Each Segment will have an assigned VLAN (see diagram) which is associated with
each switch. Inter VLAN configuration is required in order to forward traffic from one VLAN to
another VLAN. No Static Routes or RIP/RIPv2 allowed. In addition to this the following must be
configured below:
1) Hostnames for each device
2) Enable secret password (password MUST BE your firstname (lowercase))
3) MOTD Example: Unauthorized access not permitted - Systems Admin
4) Addresses will be provided from DHCP configuration from network switch as per your vLAN
assignment from your professor please exclude ranges X.X.X.1 to X.X.X.20
5) Communication between nodes from different networks must be evident (PINGABLE)
6) TELNET / SSH configuration for your network switch & router
7) Administratively shut down ports 20-24
8) Configure a TFTP server for each network with a static IP address, make a backup of your
configuration for your router and switch AFTER you've completed all the above. Please use the
naming convention of the file name below:
- Switch = Firstname-Switch HOSTNAME-KW Example: JAMIE-CONSW1-KW
- Router = Firstname-Router HOSTNAME-KW Example: JAMIE-CONR1-KW
