In this demonstration, you will integrate and apply the concepts learned in this module to a specific case of interest. Research one of the topics listed below and prepare a two-page, double-spaced report of your research findings. Be sure to apply the physics principles learned in Module Four to explain the way the device works.

Be specific rather than vague, concise rather than repetitive. Include the physical quantities you need to define in order to describe your applications and the appropriate principles/laws. Estimate some of the values of the physical quantities involved and calculate others by using formulas from the course. You must be specific enough so that you can show that you understand what you are writing about.

The specific format of your report is up to you, but it must follow the standard rules of grammar and composition: proper grammar, composition style, spelling, and punctuation are expected. The length of two pages is a general guideline. You can exceed the two pages if you want, but if it cannot be shorter. Include a list of any references you consulted at the end of your report. The reference list does not count towards the two-page minimum requirement. Insert your name and the chosen topic at the top. Include a list of your sources on another page. Save your work as a pdf file titled demonstration4-your first name-your second name.

This applies to ideas, wording, code, graphics, music, and inventions. It includes all electronic sources, such as the Internet, television, video, film, and recordings, all print and written sources, such as books, periodicals, lyrics, and government publications, and all verbal sources such as conversations and interviews.

While I don't require formal citation (MAL or APA), I'm reluctant to ignore students "copying and pasting". You need direct quote signs " " when you copy from your source. If you paraphrase or summarize what you learned in your own words, you don't need them. You have to list all your sources, whether you directly quoted them or not. A reference list is just a list of the sources you read and learned from while researching your topic. At least, it should include a web link and a title for each of your sources. Figures, diagrams, and charts also must be cited; the appropriate reference should be included just below each figure. There are tons of resources regarding proper citation.
