In this game, you will be a student intern at the headquarters of a pizza restaurant chain Vertical Slice assigned to work for the IT manager. Your job will be to help the IT manager, but then the HQ comes under some cybersecurity attacks and you must help out by solving the problems (quests) as you interact with other employees, move around the company, make choices, play some graphical mini-games, and earn points so Vertical Slice might offer you a full-time job after graduating!

By the end of your time playing this game, you will be able to:

Describe the meaning of basic information systems (IS) concepts, such as big data, cloud computing, client server, GUI, IP address, IoT, supply chain, and data base management system.

Describe the categories of cybersecurity threats, including internal and external threats.

Describe the three goals of cybersecurity confidentiality, integrity, and availability (access).

Explain why companies must work with software vendors, especially when systems fail.

Describe many key cybersecurity concepts, such as biometrics, bots, firewalls, hot sites, phishing, ransomware, and social engineering.

Explain the role of information systems in supply chains, accounts payable, and ecommerce.

Discover the challenge of isolating and solving problems encountered when managing IS.

Before playing the game, however, you need to go through some training. Our training program will introduce you to our company and ensure that you understand a bit about our business. After finishing your review of the training topics, you will graduate from our training program to become an intern at Vertical Slice.
