Please read through the steps outlined below before you begin.

Select and then install a hypervisor. VMWare is available for free from CCO at On the Hub (Links to an external site.) or you can install VirtualBox

Select an operating system to use for your virtual machine and then create the virtual machine. Install the OS in your virtual machine.

You may select any operating system that you are legally licensed to use, with the exception of Ubuntu. For example, you might want to try an operating system like Linux Mint Take care when you download the .iso that you obtain it from a reputable site, and verify the authenticity and integrity of the download.

Develop a how-to guide, which you will upload to Canvas, that details the installation and configuration process.

Your how-to guide can be a written document or presentation, but it must include screenshots (with date and time or day and time information visible) that will allow the reader to be able to use your guide to install a hypervisor and create a virtual machine.
