In your final report, you$$ll use your learning from your first and second assignments to make a prediction about what will happen regarding your communication topic in $25$ years. For example, if you studied how algorithms impact hiring decisions, what will hiring look like in $25$ years? Will hiring decisions be made exclusively by algorithms? Will people be assigned a $$hireability$$ score like a credit score that follows them around? Will we have realized the downsides of algorithms and gone back to a different hiring model?

Instructions

Write a detailed and comprehensive report that gives your prediction. This assignment builds on the work you$$ve done throughout the semester, so it$$s okay to use parts of your short report, oral presentation$/$story video, and visual representation. However, you$$ll need to cite your own work and you may have to do some revision to make it fit the appropriate context.

Your report will have the following parts:

$$ A title page

$$ A table of contents

$$ A list of illustrations, tables, and figures

$$ An executive summary $($no more than one page$)--$ This section contains a persuasive overview of everything in your report, aimed at getting people to take your recommendations seriously.

$$ Body: This will comprise the bulk of your report. It will be specific and supported by concrete claims and will have the following pieces:

o Introduction: This contains a short, technical summary of everything in your report.

o Methods: To convince your reader that your prediction is grounded in evidence, briefly explain how you did your research.

o Discussion: This section will make up the bulk of your report. Make your prediction for the future and use evidence from your research to back it up$.$ If you$$ve noticed gaps in your short report research, it$$s okay to bring in additional research. Make sure to use appropriate citation. This section should also have clear headings and subheadings and use at least one chart or graph.

o Recommendations: Now that you$$ve convinced your audience that your prediction will come true, what should companies do about it$?$ For example, if you think that algorithms lead to discrimination, you could recommend that companies change the way they use them in hiring decisions or not use them at all.

$$ Appendix: This is an optional section. You might include interview transcripts$/$data from research you did, or anything else that would be interesting for your audience to know but isn$$t crucial to understanding the main points.

You may find the following tips to be helpful:

$$ To save yourself time, it is okay to reuse material you have already written in other parts of the assignment. However, you need to cite your own work. $($You can$$t just copy and paste without in$-$text citations to yourself.$)$

$$ Review the draft of your report to make sure that it presents a clear, logical argument.

$$ Present in the body of the report only the information you think your audience will need. Put more detailed but less critical information into appendices, which you can refer to in the body.

$$ Include graphics to help readers understand and remember your main points.

$$ Edit and proofread carefully. The difference between a good report and an excellent one is often that last hour of work. Let the report sit overnight before the final revision so that your eyes are fresh. Then, check to make sure that each component is clear, complete, and in its proper place.
