The conversation came around to the fact that Stanton's son is enrolled in a hospitality program at Fanshawe College. You carefully avoided making any promises. First, you mentioned that your first diploma was from the same Fanshawe program, and commented positively on how much the program has grown over the years. Next, you mentioned that [your organization] hires co-op students from various Fanshawe programs twice a year, and that you always collect applications several months in advance, so that you can make your selections for the Fall and Winter terms.
