"INDUSTRY ROAD" PROJECT (N.T.S.)
Figure out the weight (in tonne) of the Granular A (Aggregate Base) materials. Dont forget the ground loss (subsidence) of 30mm. The weight conversion factor can be found in the Specifications sheet. Calculate the weight for the 15M and 20M re-bars using the conversion factors from the Re-bar Metric Chart. Note that the re-bars are running both ways, top and bottom.
Calculate how many 19mm lane-ties you will need on both sides of the road.
Calculate the linear measurement (in m) of the curb and gutter. Note that concrete curbs are usually priced by linear m.
Part 1 Once you have the answers for the above 7 questions, you will be able to provide an estimate for the 6 items on the specifications sheet using Form 100. Have a sub-total at the bottom and then add 13% HST. Part 2 Calculate the volume of concrete required to pour the curb on both sides of the road. Use the standard curb and gutter profile given to you on the specifications sheet. Add 3% for waste.
