The reliability concept including ensuring that financial statements are prepared by qualified accountants and often require an audit by an independent certified public accountant (CPA). CPA's are held to a high standard of professional conduct and can be sanctioned both for acts relating to their CPA practice as well as seemingly non related acts such as driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
