Step 1:Start by identifying the argument's primary type of appeal (logos, pathos or ethos).

Step 2: The reading assignment discusses some strengths and potential weaknesses (or fallacies) for each type of appeal; review the section for the appeal you identified in Step 1.

Step 3: Reply below with your response. Your response should identify and explain the following:

1. One strength of the writer's primary style of appeal, along with a 1-2 sentence explanation.
   1. For example, if your source's strength is ethos, and the introduction provides a summary of several diverse views on the topic, you might identify the second question in the ethos text box, and note the source, "demonstrate(s) familiarity with different opinions and perspectives"
2. Then, identify the type of appeal the writer relies on theleastand review the text box for "Fallacies that Misuse [that style of appeal]". Identify a fallacy that could potentially apply to this article, or this general viewpoint, and use 2-3 sentences to explain your choice.
