The Reflection Questions

  1. What crime scene/victim did you choose?
  2. Using the model you have picked, which SUB-TYPE (from the model you chose) did your crime scene fit best?
  3. Once you had your case study, and once you had read about the model, did have had an immediate sense of what type of crime scene you were dealing with (System 1, that we learn about in the previous topic)? Whether yes or no, stop and think, did your sense of what type of crime scene it was happen quickly, even before any kind of deliberate process was engaged in? (There is no right or wrong answer, be honest, and reflect on how you are becoming aware of your own information processing, the key here is to be aware).
  4. In this exercise we next want to focus on how we can use the Model to help us engage in a System 2 type of thinking, a deliberate process. Next we will try to do so. Using the model more deliberately, try to decide using the information provided, what type of crime scene we are dealing with. Describe how you went about what your process was. Provide clear detail that shows step by step what you did trying to use the model to figure out wat type of crime scene you had.
  5. Based on your experience of this exercise, reflect on anything that came up about the process of trying to classify a crime scene. Challenges or difficulties, or any aha moments. What good questions do you have?
