Instructions:

Part $1$: USB Drive Partitioning and MBR Extraction

Determine USB Drive: Identify and note the device identifier for your USB drive $($e$.$g$.,/$dev$/$sdb$).$

Partition Scheme:

Create a $256$MB EXT$2$ partition.

Create a $1\mathrm{.}5$GB EXT$4$ partition.

Create a $2$GB Linux SWAP partition.

Set the boot flag on the $256$MB EXT$2$ partition.

MBR Extraction:

Write the partition scheme to the USB drive.

Extract the Master Boot Record $($MBR$)$ from the USB device.

Make sure this MBR image is named part$1\_\{$lastname$\}.$mbr$.$ My submission would be titled: part$1\_$Y$.$mbr$.$

Part $2$: MBR Extraction from Image

Download Image: Download the provided image file for analysis.

MBR Extraction:

Extract the MBR from the downloaded image using the dd command.

Make sure this MBR image is named part$2\_\{$lastname$\}.$mbr$.$ My submission would be titled: part$2\_$Y$.$mbr$.$
