• Set up:

Once the data has been extracted from the database, it is used to make decisions. The decisions, depending on the data and the industry, could be to hire more employee, terminate some current employees, or to start the research and development process for a new product to fill a need of the consumer.

For this lab, you will research to find weather information for the perfect vacation location. You and a group of friends want to plan a vacation; however, there are some requirements for the location.

1. It must happen during the month of June.

2. It must be in Texas.

3. The actual vacation time in Texas will be five days with one day to travel to Texas and one day to travel home for a total of 7 days.

4. The critical requirement, all of you have agreed that you want to select the 5-day period where the average temperatures are the lowest possible in June.

Complete the following steps:

• You are to select three Texas locations, by town or city name, and then use a website of your choice to collect the temperature data for those three locations in Texas for the month of June for this for the last three years.
• Once you have collected the data, you are to analyze any consecutive five days for each location using a word document or spreadsheet, simply list the three locations down the left side of the spreadsheet, the days of the month across the top and then for each location list the daily temps in the empty cells of the spreadsheet.
• Next, highlight somehow (bold, underline, different color font, highlight) the data for the five days selected and the actual location selected for your vacation based on your analysis.
