Training Plan Assignment

On pages 212 and 213 in your textbook, review the ADDIE method. Then on page 227, complete the Case Application 8-A; Training for Kindness. (You will complete the answer to question #2 ONLY.) One of the required learning outcomes in this course is an understanding of the ADDIE Method. This assignment is the most comprehensive in the course.

USING THE A.D.D.I.E MODEL OF INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN

Analyze (Answer the below questions)

Conduct a Needs Analysis:

Who needs the training?

When will they need the new skills?

Why do people need the training?

Where may the training be conducted?

What skills need to be learned?

How may the new skills be taught?

Determine course goals

Design

Translate course goals into performance outcomes and course objectives (just 1 goal is needed for this assignment which can be tied to one of the job duties in the case)

Write learning objectives > Specify the behavior, condition and standard (What is to change and by how much) (Again just 1 learning objective is needed)

Determine topics to be covered and how much time will be spent on each (What topics need to be covered for your learning objective? 2-3 topics will suffice)

Create lesson plan (You do not need to do this)

Identify learning activities and exercises to be used (Only those appropriate to your objective above, 2-3 activities)

Identify assessment instruments (How will you assess your objective?) 2 assessments required

Develop

(short description--do not actually create these materials, in other words, what type of materials will be producedindividual trainee and instructor materials? Will you purchase materials from a third party?)

Prepare draft materials and activities

Try out materials and activities with target audience members Revise, refine and produce materials and activities

Produce instructor training materials if needed

Implement

(Basic outline of how/when you will implement and will you provide any of the training)

Deliver training

Provide help or support as needed

Evaluate (Theoretically, choose one of the levels you think will be the outcome of the implementation of your training plan and describe.)

Use Kirkpatrick's 4Level Model of Evaluation to assess the program:

Level 1: Did the participants react positively to the program?

Level 2: Did the participants learn the skills taught in the program?

Level 3: Did the participants' behavior on the job change as a result of the program?

Level 4: Did the change in behavior affect the organization positively?
