Create an organization chart of a typical small health information department:
At the top of the chart, place the director of health information management. (10 points)
Show two assistant directors below the director. (25 points)
For the first assistant director, add the following staff: two coders, two analysts, and two document scanners. (5 points each =30 points)
For the second assistant director, add the following staff: 2 release of information technicians, 3 transcriptionists, 1 clerk, and 1 EHR specialist. (5 points each =35 points).
Watch the video lecture on how to construct the chart. Use figure 21.6 on p.656 of the textbook as a guide. Save the chart to your computer as a Word file. Attach the Word file for this assignment.
How to get a good grade on this assignment:
Have a separate box for each person in the organization.
Make sure the vertical lines show the correct reporting relationships. Note on p.656 how the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Clinical Officer report to the CEO. Also, note how all the staff members under the Chief Clinical Officer report. Do not include any diagonal lines on the chart.
Do not have one person reporting to another person with the same job title. For example, do not have one coder reporting to another coder. Also, do not have one release of information technician report to another release of information technician.
