You have entered the OPM Program with various backgrounds.

All of you have taken

previous education, and some of you also have employment experience. These two

areas combined with your career goals are useful in preparing you for job interviews.

Your confidence in presenting these three items are crucial for your success.

Therefore, this assignment was created to help you.

In this assignment you are to provide a short career presentation followed by a short

mock job interview with your Professor.

Additional Details

The format of the Career Presentation is a verbal summary of your previous education,

employment experience, and career goals, without the use of slides. The presentation

must not exceed 5 minutes. A one-page summary of what you will present must be

submitted at least 24 hours before your scheduled presentation.

The format of the interview will be a question and answer style of conversation between

the Student and the Professor. The length of the interview will not exceed five minutes.

Both of the Career Presentation and Interview can be completed either in person on

campus or online. The Professor will provide more information regarding scheduling.

Career Presentation (written & verbal summary, each worth 5% of course grade):

0 missing

1-2 doesnt meet expectations (does not present education, experience, and/or

career goals)

3 meets expectations (presents education, experience, and/or career goals)

4-5 exceeds expectations (persuasively presents education, experience and/or

career goals

Interview (10% of your course grade):

0 missing

1-4 doesnt meet expectations (unable to answer all questions)

5-7 meets expectations (able to answer all questions)

8-10 exceeds expectations (able to answer all questions and provide additional

valuable information
