Instructions

You will install Windows Server $2022$ onto a VMWare virtual machine. For this task only, you can use your previous base machine to get started.

You will install Windows $11($the latest build$)$ onto a VMWare virtual machine, as well.

You will connect these machines by setting up IP addresses using the following scheme:

Use the number position corresponding to the letter of your first name in the first octet and the number position of your last name in the second octet. So$,$ if your name was Anthony $($A is in position $1)$ W$.($W is in position $25)$ Rose $($R is in position $18),$ your IP address would be $1\mathrm{.}25\mathrm{.}18\mathrm{.}0/24.$

You will demonstrate your IP addresses on each machine by doing an ipconfig statement at the command line of each machine in your final demonstration.

Your FML$-$DC $($your domain controller$)$ will be addressed at F$.$M$.$L$\mathrm{.}10,$ your FML$-$Client $($your Windows $11$ machine$)$ will be addressed as F$.$M$.$L$\mathrm{.}11,$

You will demonstrate connectivity between each machine by pinging from the command line of each machine back to the FML$-$DC$.$

Remember that you will need to turn off your firewalls to do this.

You must promote your FML$-$DC server machine to become an Active Directory Domain Controller with FML$.$com as the domain.

Remember that you may need to turn off your domain firewalls after you join to the domain.

You will add your client to the domain.

After reading your company's security policy, you determine that it requires $14-$character passwords $($containing uppercase, lowercase numbers, and symbols$),$ which are to be changed every $6$ months. Your company's policy also specifies that non$-$administrators shouldn't have access to the command line or be able to edit the computer's registry. Modify the password policy to reflect the company's security policy, and implement GPOs that prevent access to the command$-$line and registry editing tools for the entire domain. Apply a group policy to your server that will enforce this policy for your company's workstations.
