Instructions: Your goal is to create a change implementation that will help to solve an issue identified in your organizational intervention project. You should use theory, concepts, and ideas from class wherever possible to support your decision making. The exam will be due on the last day of the exam period, Wed Dec 18, at 11:59pm via D2L.
Identify the issue (5 points)
Here you get to be creative again. Pretend you collected data using the instrument you built in your individual paper. Describe a problem that could have been identified in the hypothetical data. If you are sick of that topic, then you can create a new problem that you want to solve for this paper. It doesnt matter to me. Here you should tell me what the problem is, why it is important, and (who/what does it affect).
Describe the change you want to implement (10 points)
What exactly do you want to do? Why?
What outcomes do you seek? Why?
Is it an incremental or radical change? Why?
What is the expected timeline (does not have to be detailed is it short medium long term? a month? a year? why did you pick this timeline)
What impacts might the change have?
On people? Structures? Processes? (change may not impact them all)
Develop an implementation plan (25 points)
Using one of the models discussed in class (ex: Kotter, Lewin), or found elsewhere (ADKAR, Jicks 10 commandments of change, etc.), describe how you will implement your change, using concepts from the course (ex: power/ politics/ influence/ communication/ motivation/etc) to support your response throughout. I am looking for specifics here how will you do it and why.
Dealing with resistance (15 pts)
What are three types of resistance (whether individual or organizational) you might expect to encounter in your specific change implementation? Why might you expect to see these issues? What impact would they have on the implementation? What would you do to overcome them? Again, use concepts from the course to explain.
