Interview a CIO (preferably at a healthcare facility). Here are some sample questions to ask:

• Can you please give me a summary of your background?
• What is your top priority this year?
• Do you have an example of how technology was used to solve a business problem during the pandemic? Has this solution stayed in place?
• What is your experience with digital transformation?
• In 2022, we saw an increase in health systems adopting or planning to adopt public cloud platforms. Has your use of cloud services increased over the past few years? If so, do you see advantages or disadvantages?
• Where do you see the industry heading in the next three to five years?
• Do you have any advice for me as I continue my studies in healthcare administration and prepare for a future role in hospital leadership?
