Ido not think it is wise to evaluate a promising candidate's tweets or postings on social media sites for grounds of rejection. Although it gives you an insight on a candidates life and true thoughts as a person social media can also be deceiving. Even though you can control what you post on social media and your social media can reflect a company in the long run. Social media also shines a light on personal matters and views like religion, sex, nationality, age, political view, disabilities, race and more. Those are protected characteristics that should remain protected. Someone's political view, religion, race, or gender should hinder the success of a candidate.Ethical and legal issues the manager must consider are being sued for being bias against a race, age, disability, gender and many more protected characteristics. They also have to worry about the image of a company through their employees. The same way they have to be cautious about rejecting for certain reasons they have to make sure their employees don't offend anyone and it be a backlash on the company.
