Reuptake is when neurotransmitters are taken up to the presynaptic neuron they can be recycle and reused this is active process and requires energy, by the cell doing this it ensures health and can help regulate the duration of their effectives within the cell Neurotransmitter Transporters- proteins that are embedded in the plasma membrane act like jpumps to actively move neurotransmitters to their concentration level whereas some will move in the opposite direction which require energy as it is active transport.
