I took the role of being the problem handler and the communicator within my group. My primary responsibility was to determine and implement various strategies within the task to solve the assigned problem. Firstly, I analysed the task and brainstormed the most efficient method to deliver the best results in reference to the rubric. Hence, I initiated a brainstorm session, in which we gave each other roles within the group and assigned team members with an allocated task from the criteria. Such strategy and collaborative approach led to in-depth understanding of the task and broke down the problem into smaller and manageable tasks for everyone, rather than everyone being anxious about the whole task. Not only did this streamlined our workflow but also assisted us to stay on track. I also assisted in getting measurements and developing the formula , which we used to find an outcome for the given questions.
Task 2: In at most 150 words, identify the mathematical tools and techniques you identified to solve this problem and justify your selection.
One tool I used to measure the waterflow every second was using a ruler on the bottle and a timer, which developed a relationship between waterfall and time. These measurements were taken twice for accuracy and then were utilised for calculations. To tackle the given task, I identified and suggested some mathematical strategies such as separable differentiation and integration to construct a formula for the calculation of the water flow. This was also assisted by a visual render that I suggested to provide a clear representation of the model and to identify components on the bottle such as height , where the water input and output holes are and the radius of the holes. All the suggestions of tools aligned with the provided problem and enabled us to derive a functional formula which allowed us to calculate the water flow and present our working out and results clearly.
