It would also be useful to look at some projections concerning the demands that the system will face in the future. Finally, what are some of the strategies that are available to improve the way we manage the fund? Of course, this could be related to the management of revenues or expenses. Is it fair to change a system when many have made their financial plans for the future based on commitments made by our government? Is it fair for younger people to make huge sacrifices when there is no guarantee that someone else will do the same for them later? How should a society provide for the needs of its elderly? This becomes an even tougher question when you consider the availability and cost of new health care options, especially for medications. It is certainly a challenge that must be addressed very soon
