Mini Case #2 Andy has just joined a new team. He is super excited about his new job and his new manager Alison. At his first team meeting the team engages in conflict about a difficult issue they are trying to resolve. During the discussion a team member, Sam, becomes aggressive about his opinion and starts to force his position on the rest of the team. Andy notices the rest of the team slowly disengage and shut down. He could sense frustration and anger from them. He also notices that Alison doesn't say anything. He is surprised she doesn't step in and ask Sam to listen to the teams perspectives. Andy decides to speak up and ask questions about what others on the team think about the issue. Sam quickly cuts Andy off and tells him the questions are not applicable to the issue they are discussing. Andy now feels frustration and starts to feel disengaged in the meeting too.
