The support bracket is attached to a structural steel column of dimensions 100 x 50 x 5 by means of two M8x1.25 SAE Class 4.6 bolts. As the designer, you are required to analyse the following scenarios.

1.Determine the direct shear load per bolt if P = 2898 N

2.Determine the moment about the centroid of the bolt pattern.

3.Determine the shear force, F_m , per bolt.

4.Determine the resultant shear force, Fs , per bolt.

5.What is the safety factor, SF, if the maximum allowable shear stress of the bolt material is 55.2 MPa.
