Journal articles can be found through OCU’s library resources, in various free-access online databases (simply search “Free-Access Online Databases and Resources” using Google or another search engine), and even through Google itself by searching “Google Scholar”.

Select a peer-reviewed journal article that addresses research questions concerning a business topic of interest. Choose an article that is of interest to you that you can use for your course research paper due in Week 6.

Below are the elements that generally are involved in an article review.

Write a response answering the following elements:Details of publication

Who wrote the article? Does it contain contributions from more than one author?

What is the name of the journal that published the article? What is the target audience of this journal?

Contents and argument

What is the author’s central thesis?

What are the author’s assumptions?

What is his or her research methodology?

How has he or she organized the article?

Evaluation Do you agree with the thesis and the other major points of the article?

Why or why not?

What are the article’s major weaknesses?

What are its primary strengths and contributions?

Are the author’s presuppositions, method, and approach valid and appropriate?

For whom was the article written and what was its purpose?

Has it accomplished this purpose, and does it adequately communicate to its intended audience?
