Journal Assignment - Conflicting Values

Self Reflection to explore when you have had conflicting values in an ethical dilemma.

Each of your writing assignments is a self-reflexive journal entry. You are expected to participate in self-exploration and use it to help facilitate class discussions. These assignments get us thinking about our own self, values, and cultural understandings and we will discuss how these can affect our decisions and perceptions.

It is important to note that there are no right or wrong answers here. I do expect to see an honest attempt at understanding your own self and the material we discuss in class.

Instructions: For the second assignment, I would like you to explore a time when your values were in conflict. Build on the last assignment of your own values and discuss any conflicts you have in the past that you have faced. Try to use a professional example, but if you don't have one think of a personal situation where your values have been in conflict.

• Were there any specific Decision-making tools or techniques you used?
