Each of your writing assignments are self-reflexive journal entries. You are expected to participate in self exploration and use it to help facilitate class discussions. These assignments It to get us thinking about our own self, values and cultural understandings and we will discuss how these can have an effect on our decisions and perceptions.
It is important to note that there are no right or wrong answers here. I do expect to see an honest attempt at understanding your own self and the material we discuss in class.
Instructions: For the first assignment - it is a simple journal self-reflection piece on your own values and where they come from. It is to get us thinking about our own self journeys and perceptions of the world. Think about your own values and who you feel has influenced you. It is impossible to really do a rubric for a journal of self-exploration. I do expect a well written, thoughtful and edited piece. No quotes or references are required for the first assignment.

I have a strong work ethics of being on time as this was important in the work I did when I volunteered at the Humane Society. Being on time became a habit but I realized it was important to those that had tight schedules. Medical procedures would be jeopardized without organizational professionalism and being on time to support others.
