The effects of the pandemic have had major and quick decision changes while serving on active duty. While most service men and women conduct their jobs face-to-face, in-person and with a small fraction of communication being email. The pandemic caused shore-based members on administrative duties to go full-time remote, participating virtually. With this change, it became apparent there are significant components of virtual teams. Motivation, group cohesion, role assignments, tasks and socials behaviors and team learning are necessary components to a successful team (Levi & Askay, 2021, pg. 67, para. 1). These components establish strong communication, trust, and clear expectations from members selected. Team members should be selected based on expertise and their abilities to balance social and relationship aspects of teamwork.
Tuckmans stage of group development.
Tuckmans stages of group development model and describes the necessary components for teams/groups to grow and reach completion of their goals. He explains the stage process begins with the creation and finishes with the disbanding of a team. Stage one, forming, affects the team because it defines personalities of its members, behavior development and establishes relationships. Allowing members to analyze how much effort is necessary for participation. Stage two, storming, is the hardest for groups to progress through and can either make or break the team. It is what introduces them to conflict and teaches them how to work through disagreements. Stage three, norming, members can reach agreements on their goals with a clear explanation and expectation of their roles to meet that goal. Stage four, performing, is team member performance at the highest level. At this stage, majority of the work is accomplished, and team trust and loyalty are established. The fifth stage, adjourning, is the disbanding stage. After the goal has been accomplished members part ways. His stage group development theory is good for future development of teams as is creates a roadmap for leaders to improve team performances.

Significant components of virtual teams include communication tools, technology and fresh structure tools, clear goals, diverse skills, and strong leadership. Team members for virtual teams are often selected based on their expertise, experience and ability to work independently. Tuckman's stage (Foreman, storming, norming, performing, adjourning) Still apply in Virtual teams but interactions May differ due to digital communication.Virtual team establish initial communication connections through virtual introductions, orientation, and discussions of roads and tasks. conflicts may arise due to communication misunderstanding or differences in work Styles but effective virtual team leaders address these issues promptly.
Two critical factors for virtual team leaders dealing with remote members are communicating strategies and building trust among team members despite physical separation. motivation and engagements are also vital in a remote setting. Virtual team members rely heavily on communication tools like video conferencing, instant messaging, and collaboration platforms to stay connected and share information. Team members selected for virtual teams look forward to using information through the virtual team members based on specific skills, knowledge, and experience relevant to the project or task at hand. Leadership keeps remote team members motivated and engaging by recognizing their contributions, providing opportunities for skill development, and maintaining a positive team culture at all times virtual teams start with lower levels of cohesion and trust among members. They often do not have a shared set of norms and work procedures (Levi 2021).
When it comes to managing virtual teams people often seek to learn more about the following ways to use effective communication to communicate clearly and efficiently with people. Also they look for ways to team Bill and engagement to find strategies to build a sense of Engagement among remote team members. These are some of the things I would love to know more about when it comes to Virtual teams or just things in general.
