I found the topics of antitrust laws and staffing options to be the most interesting. Before taking this course, I viewed antitrust laws solely as a means to prevent large companies from getting too big and gaining 100% of a market share. This is true, but I hadn't given much thought to how the antitrust legislation protects consumers, fosters competition in the marketplace, and benefits the economy by promoting diversity in business (Lockert & Suarez, 2022). It was also interesting to see how governments use antitrust laws as a form of control. I also enjoyed learning about the benefits and drawbacks of hiring host-country, third-country, and parent-country nationals. Peng (2023) states that "finding the appropriate candidates for such top jobs is an important part of firms talent managementthe process through which organizations anticipate and meet their needs for talent in strategic jobs.

Which subjects do you think will be most relevant in your business career and why?

As a supply chain professional, understanding our international vendors' cultural and business cultures will help improve our relationships and give insight into tariff and non-tariff barriers. With trade tensions mounting, particularly with China, the implications are far-reaching as the impacts of tariffs go beyond the effect on a single country or sector to have a ripple effect on the global supply chain (Ahya, 2018).

Which topics would you like to see presented in a case study or business simulation format?

I would like to see topics on the international supply chain related to global sourcing and distribution. It would be particularly interesting if it were discussed from the standpoint of post-pandemic impacts and changes.

How did the virtual aspects of the course help broaden your view of international business?

Speaking directly with a foreign business partner was valuable to my learning experience. I admit that, at first, I thought I would have a difficult time communicating with someone from India and that I would only receive limited information. I was surprised to find that speaking with Rajnish gave me a much clearer understanding and a greater sense of the reality of the business climate than I would have received by simply reading the text.

I found just about every topic in this course to be interesting and beneficial. An international venture is a complicated process requiring thorough planning and research, so that the chances for success of the venture to be high. Part of this planning and research involves learning about the host country, because business strategies differ from country to country. These differences are a result of varied socioeconomic factors in different places. Communication with my resource partner is one of the parts of this course that I found to be interesting. Sharing information about her country as well as her thoughts and point of view on organizational matters was exciting. I got to learn important business concepts such as marketing strategies and financial strategies. Though these consist part of a wider business strategies, understanding the intricacies of these strategies could determine the success or failure of an international venture. Also, the difference in work culture was also interesting to me. Culture is: "The collective programming of the mind that distinguishes the members of one group or category of people from another" (Peng, 2017, Pg. 67). Culture can influence business decisions while also influencing the way business is conducted.

Which subjects do you think will be most relevant in your business career and why?

I think that the concept social responsibility will be significantly relevant in my business career. To begin with, sustainability is the defining issue of current times. Businesses are at the lead in promoting sustainability- realizing the part they have played in warming up the planet through greenhouse gas emissions and polluting it by waste products. Social responsibility, in terms of sustainability will be intensive in the future, and I would like to be involved.
