From what I learned, the early calculations of sending a rocket into space or a heavy plane across the sea, all the calculations were done by hand. These calculations were responsible for pretty much how the world runs as is. Its amazing to see the actions from early on and how the developed the world as it is today. The calculations were what were able to get us into space and the trajectory to the moon! The calculations the women had used were later developed into C and C++ Programs. Which is huge for the computer world and also allows for early female representation in the computer world! Human Computers were needed to ensure accuracy. The time a human takes on the calculations ensures that they are in fact accurate and usable. Using pencil and graphing paper also ensures that the documents can be preserved throughout time and referenced when calculating other things. Also, at the time, computers were not that reliable and were probably even slower than human calculations. Utilizing pencil and graphing paper allowed for archiving data. They mentioned C and C++ Programs in the text. These programs allowed for computers to develop and become more reliable in the current state they are.
