Just need to reply Please :D. These are my classmates discussion posts.
1st Post.
As explained in the video, there are different phases that need to be respected to schedule a project. I believe that all steps are important and none of them should be removed. It is important to follow these steps in the right order to succeed, it is like a recipe, you cannot do it wrong and expect the result to be as the picture, it just wont.
By scheduling your next project it is easier to control the activities that need to be done, this is going to determine the timeline, the resources needed for the project, keeps everyone on the same page and makes it more achievable.
As i have seen in the video here are the project management phases:
. Start
. Initiate
. Plan
. Execute
. Monitor / Control
. Close
I believe that the plan part might be the most critical. The plan part includes schedule that refers to 4 steps as follows: define activities, complete estimates, determine dependencies and assign resources. This is going to give a detailed plan about what needs to be done in order to close a project.
By the end all questions and concerns are answered, nothing has been neglected and the project has been properly done. Plus, it can save effort and money while working on the project. And I truly believe that by doing so it makes you a better leader and a better decision maker as well.
2nd Post.
I enjoyed watching this video "How to schedule a Project". It is clearly illustrated and easy to understand. The process flow was presented in a straightforward but complete way. I have learned more about the importance of having a project manager. A project manager is in charge of defining the project scope, delegating responsibilities, and also making sure that the task is met and they would follow the specific deadlines for each duty. During the Planning phase, a schedule needs to be set up and organized. In composes of linked activities to identify what needs to be done, planned dates that answer when will it be done, durations, milestones, and resources or manpower that will do the assigned task.
In this video presentation, I learned that having a project schedule is very important for a project. A project schedule makes the project monitors its timelines, the resources identified, and the process flow or the sequence of projects that can be completed on time. A project timeline that states the start date and when will it be finished. The work that is needed to complete the project as well as its execution. The financial aspect or cost impact in doing the project and lastly the team members that are responsible for each task.
Having a project schedule the progress of the project is easily monitored and tracked. Overall this video is worth watching because you will learn more about the topic.
