You will need to post a link to a news/article regarding a current event(something in the last 60 days) regarding a topic of your choice from Chapters 1 - 2.

The Post

Here are some topics to consider from the chapters:

Transaction-Processing Systems - latest innovations, security/ethic issues, new systems in the market, how vendors have improved business, etc...

Business Intelligence - how companies are using this technology to improve business decisions, ethics and or securities issues with this topic

Current IT Job Market - Hot jobs, new jobs, articles discussing the current state of the market and projections for certain IT roles

Some Additional topics worth considering: Five Forces Model, Artificial Intelligence, Operating Systems News, General Computer Component News (CPU market, Disk Drive innovations, etc)

These 2 chapters are very broad general topics which would make it easier to identify an article for your first posting. The subsequent chapters will be a bit more narrow in topic and may be a bit more challenging. Therefor, this makes for good practice.

You will be evaluated on how current the article is, how closely it resembles the topics discussed in the chapters and the quality of the contribution to the discussion in class.
