Lab Project: User Environments in Win$10/11$ & Linux

PURPOSE: The purpose of this lab project is to set up a simple user environment on the Windows and Linux platforms using virtual machines $($VMs$)$ in Apporto.

OVERVIEW:

Case Study: The Henderson Landscapes Company $($HLSC$)$ is a small business that sells their landscape design and installation services to commercial and residential customers in the Dallas$/$Ft$.$ Worth area. They have $15$ employees, some of which are field employees and are seasonal. There are $5$ employees that work out of their small office in a strip mall in Future, TX:

Cindy Henderson $-$ owner and business operations leader

Talha Khan $-$ field operations leader

Charulata Chug $-$ administrative assistant and bookkeeper

Edwin Henderson $-$ owner and landscape designer$/$creator

Angel Delgado $-$ landscape designer$/$creator

In the HLSC$\text{'}$s office, $5$ employees share a variety of wireless mobile laptops but share $2$ permanent desktop computers:

Maintaining a customer database in Access

Developing contracts for customers in Word

Using an online Finance web site for generating customer bills and bookkeeping

Entering time and attendance in an online HR software

Linux Fedora $38$

Developing landscape designs and plans using Landscape Business Software

Maintaining an inventory system $($including ordering$)$ using PostgreSQL
