Larkin Industries manufactures several lines of decorative and functional metal items. The most recent order has been for 3000 door handles set units for an apartment complex developer. The sales and production departments must work together to determine delivery schedules. Each handle set unit consists of five components: two knobs, one lock, two plates, three keys and Medal. Although the processes used in the manufacture of the five components vary, there are four areas where the production manager is concerned about the availability of resources. These three areas, their usage by the five components per unit "in minutes", and their availability "in hours" are detailed in the table. Resource Knob Lock Plate Key Medal Available Brass Alloy 10 8 3 2 410 Machining 12 5 3 10 5 400 Assembling 5 2 2 4 6 390 Finishing 15 5 1 2 4 500 A quick look at the amounts available confirms that Larkin does not have the resources to fill this contract. Alternatively, the components may be purchased from subcontractors. Larkin found two different subcontractors: Harjis and Sujal. The cost of production and purchase per unit are given in the table below Component Larkin Cost (R.O) Subcontractor "Harjis" Cost (R.O) Subcontractor "Sujal" Cost (R.O) Knob 6.000 7.000 9.000 Lock 5.000 6.000 3.000 Plate 3.000 5.000 2.000 Key 4.000 1.000 3.000 Medal 1.000 2.000 1.000 Larkin wants to meet the following requirements: The number of door handles to be produced is exactly 3000. The number of knobs to be produced is greater than or equal to the total number of knobs purchased from subcontractor. The number of locks purchased from subcontractor "Sujal" should not exceed 50% of the total number of components purchased from subcontractor "Sujal". The minimum number of locks purchased from "Sujal" is 1000. The total number of plates purchased from subcontractors should not exceed the number of plates manufactured.
