 Discussion Question: 

In this unit, we learned that giving and receiving feedback or constructive criticism is a large part of your professional growth and development. Verbal feedback can be taken positively or negatively depending on how it is delivered.

Initial Response: 

For this discussion, think about a time when you were given verbal feedback by a friend, family member, teacher, co-worker, or manager. Describe the situation.

Then, answer the following questions: 

1. Did you feel that the feedback you received was positive or negative? Why?
2. Were there specific words or phrases used by the person delivering the feedback? How did those words make you feel?
3. After reading and watching this week’s materials, would you have responded to the feedback differently and if so, how would you have changed your response? Explain.
